For the last decade, Dr. Nelson has enjoyed sharing his abstract paintings with his patients at his office.
Art has been an integral part of Dr. Nelson’s life from an early age. Having never been formally trained, Dr. Nelson started painting landscapes, portraits, and Arizona scenes in grade school. Years of sketching and painting with water colors and acrylics created a foundation for understanding proportion, symmetry, and anatomic detail. Plastic Surgery dovetails well with Dr. Nelson’s artistic background.

Painting is not been Dr. Nelson’s only passion; he also creates three dimensional works with metal and wood. He enjoys having a little fun with the things he works with every day. Many patients’ favorite work in the office is a series of jellyfish made from breast implant sizers.
Another favorite art form Dr. Nelson has been working with the last few years is cactus gardens integrated into ornate tree stumps, which can grow up to five feet tall and several feet wide.
